Today, the conventional cotton crops occupies 3 % of the world cultivated areas. Nevertheless, it represents 25 % of pesticides and 10 % of insecticides bought in the world. Indeed, one field of cotton could be treated until 25 times by harvest.
This is not without consequences for ecosystems, producers and consumers. One can quote in particular...
- Soil Pollution and Erosion
- Water and Air Pollution
- Death of Beneficial Insects
- Risks for the Health
- Cancer
- Sterility
- Acute and Chronic Poisoning
- Neurological Problems
- Weakening of the Immune System
- Allergies
However a solution exists: the organic agriculture. And so we make our maximum to produce a quality cotton, while respecting the man and the environment. Throughout our manufacturing process, our inspectors and supervisors check the conformity of our products with the standards established for the organic agriculture. They notably make regular visit into the farms to check the farming practices and guide the farmers for better results.
In that way, our farmers undertake to not use chemicals, and to recycle as much as possible the waste stemming from their activity, for instance:
- Cow Dung used as organic manure on the cotton plants
- Fermented Cow Urine used as Organic Fertilizer or Plant Medecine
- Neem fruits supply necessary elements for the cotton growth, and its leaves protect the cotton from certain diseases.
- Lemon juice mixed with sugar brings vitality to the cotton plant
- Transformation of animals dung into biogas (methane)
